Brad Curtis Member #028               Back To Members Index

Brad Curtis and  The SOME x 6 Band (sometimes six) was officially born during the summer of 2002 at Nat Bailey Stadium, Vancouver BC Canada.  Brad  and some friends had just finished playing a Senior Men's Baseball game at the historic Nat Bailey Stadium on a hot July afternoon, and were sitting back talking after the game. Brad  soon realized they all shared a passion for playing music and he headed down to the local pawn shop to pick up a bass guitar which he had not picked up in 20 years. Something "spoke to him" that it was just the right thing to do.

Brad began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 15 yrs, playing in coffee shops, church's, and high school's  around the Prince George BC area. He also played in successful local cover bands  until leaving to go to Simon Fraser Fraser university in Vancouver BC. His early influences were Deep Purple, Pink Floyd,  Black Sabbath,  The Who, and Nazareth to name a few.

In the early years of SOME x 6 , Brad's song writing  was influenced by artists such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix , Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Robin Trower , Bruce Cockburn and BB King, but the biggest influence on early SOME x 6 was Stevie Ray Vaughan.

The latest album The Devil's In My Pocket has been called "A Little Bit Pink Floyd and a Little Bit Blues"!!

Since 2002, Brad has played with a variety of excellent musicians  each helping shape the sound we now know as Brad Curtis & The SOME x 6 Band.
