Brad began playing guitar and writing songs at the age of 15 yrs, playing in coffee shops, church's, and high school's around the Prince George BC area. He also played in successful local cover bands until leaving to go to Simon Fraser Fraser university in Vancouver BC. His early influences were Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, The Who, and Nazareth to name a few. In the early years of SOME x 6 , Brad's song writing was influenced by artists such as The Doors, Jimi Hendrix , Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Robin Trower , Bruce Cockburn and BB King, but the biggest influence on early SOME x 6 was Stevie Ray Vaughan. The latest album The Devil's In My Pocket has been called "A Little Bit Pink Floyd and a Little Bit Blues"!! Since 2002, Brad has played with a variety of excellent musicians each helping shape the sound we now know as Brad Curtis & The SOME x 6 Band.
