NitroVille "Can't Stop What's Comin'"

 

 

It is not often that I decide to do a review for a band whoms music is really a lot more Rock 'N' Roll then Blues, but every now and then I break with tradition, especially when the bands sound really catches my ear. NitroVille is such a band and their new debut album "Can't Stop What's Comin'" consists of some of the best Straight Ahead No Nonsense Rock 'N' Roll that I have heard since Black Country Communion released their debut album last year.

 

NitroVille was formed in 2010 and is the brainchild of Vocalist Tola Lamont and Guitarist Kurt Michael Boeck. "Both shared a vision on how pure and unfiltered Rock 'n' Roll should sound and started writing for live shows and their album Can't Stop What's Comin', combining lyrical story-telling with solid rock musicianship." The original band, for this recording, also included Fussi Andersen on Bass, and Cyro Zuzi on Drums. After the completion of "Can't Stop What's Comin'", Cyro Zuzi left the band to pursue other goals and interests and his spot was filled by "heavy hitting hard rock drummer, Matt Whittington ."

 

"Can't Stop What's Comin'" consists of 11 Tracks of pure unfiltered Rock "N" Roll, with the use of Vintage Valve Amps and no fancy pedals. All the Tracks were written and produced by Tola Lamont and Kurt Michael Boeck with the Album being produced by Mark Waterman, renowned for also producing Ride and Smashing Pumpkins.

 

"Can't Stop What's Comin'" smashes right out of the gate, with the opening Track "Cheating The Hangman", and just doesn't slow down or fizzle out like many other groups that start off with a bang. Most of the songs are in the 4+ minute range with a couple of nice long ones clocking in a little over and under 6 minutes. Plenty of time to get a good sweat going bobbing you head to these great tunes. Tola Lamont does all the singing on "Can't Stop What's Comin'" and what a singer she is. With a voice perfectly suited for the style of music they play, Tola Lamont, can not only hold her own up against any power singer of today, but would certainly have held her own when compared to some of the best from yesteryear, as well. Paired perfectly with the rest of the bands powerful Guitar, Bass, and Drums back beat, this four piece band simply crushes any want to be competition out there, nowadays. They don't stop, their music doesn't stop, and you won't stop rockin' to their beat.

 

NitroVille is one hell of a Rock 'N' Roll band and "Can't Stop What's Comin'" is one hell of a Debut Album. It brings back great memories of great rock bands past.

 

For Rock 'N' Roll you just can't beat "Can't Stop What's Comin'", a 5***** production if I ever heard one.
