Rita Chiarelli "Sweet Paradise"
(Blues / Country / Jazz)

|
When it comes to Rita Chiarelli, there is really no disputing the fact that she, to quote CBC's Shelagh Roberts, is truly "The Canadian Goddess Of The Blues". Now with her newest Album hot of the presses with a March 22, 2010 release date, Rita is wasting absolutely no time in proving that fact. "Sweet Paradise", Rita's 8th release, continues in her tradition of bringing us songs that we can all relate to in a manner and voice that draws a more meaningful inner connection between herself and her audience. Rita sings her songs from her soul and in doing so, touches ours. "Sweet Paradise", which Rita co-produced with George Koller, consists of 12 songs, all brought into remarkable focus from the experiences she had drawn on from her time spent in Mississippi and Louisiana, over the last few years. From down home Swampy Blues to Soul Searching Roots, combined with a little tinge of Country Feel, "Sweet Paradise" more than covers the gamut of emotions one expects when listening to Rita, in all her glory. "Sweet Paradise" is a very fine example of what this cherished Canadian Singer - Songwriter is all about, and that is one whom has the profound ability to connect with her fans on all levels. I give this CD, my highest rating, Five ***** Excellent CD... Thoroughly enjoyed it... Highly Recommended... John Vermilyea (Blues Underground Network) Other Info Tracklist 1.I Believe About Rita Chiarelli “Rita Chiarelli… a voice that can growl at her demons or soar with the angels, a gift for
lyric, an ear for melody and the heart to combine them.” She is an accomplished singer-songwriter, a gifted vocalist and a skilled musician. Add to that a warm persona and a fine sense
of humour and you have all the ingredients for an outstanding performer. Rita Chiarelli’s style
defies definition. Although dubbed the goddess of Canadian blues by CBC’s Shelagh Rogers,
Chiarelli is equally comfortable belting out the blues; delivering her original material, crooning an
Italian folk song or wailing R&B or an Elvis Presley cover tune. At first listen it’s her voice –
that three octave range - that garners all the attention! But Rita’s songwriting is also outstanding;
three of her four JUNO nominations have been for albums consisting largely of original material. Rita Chiarelli • How Blue Can You Get? live @ Mozarthaus Vienna, Austria • Rita shared the
