Band Members Mike Merola I've had a guitar in my hands since the age of 9. My favorite guitarists are B.B., Freddie, and Albert King, along with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Les Paul, Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Joe Pass, Mark Feldman, Robert Ross, Chris Carter, Richard Goggin, Mike Festa, Big Ed Sullivan, Joe Beck, Ron Parker, Joe Taino and Sal Salvador. At the tender age of six my mother introduced me to the piano in the form of classical music lessons. It would be these lessons that would place me on a path that has been nothing short of amazing. My life has been blessed with a wonderful parade of some of music’s great innovators and even legends. Rob Clores Rob Clores was formally trained in jazz and classical music, but the roots of R & B and traditional blues were always “in his bones.” He’s well known and highly regarded in the New York area for both his inventive club gigs and inspired studio work. Nick Saya is a Producer, Drummer, Programmer, Multi Instrumentalist, Songwriter, and re-mixer. Besides being active in live and studio work, Nick has also placed his own music in TV and Film as well as various TV commercials. For more on Nick, check out www.nicksaya.com. Danny has toured with many Jazz Greats such as: Michael Brecker, Dennis Chambers, Nicholas Payton, Christian McBride, Nat Adderley, George Colemon, Dianne Reeves, Carl Allen, Nnenna Freelon, Dewey Redman. and many others. Tony Kadleck has credits that read like a “who’s who” in the music business. He’s played with such luminaries as Frank Sinatra, Woody Herman, Buddy Rich, Jack McDuff, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, Ella Fitzgerald and Mel Torme. Tony has many television and film credits as well. A consumate fixture on the New York Jazz scene Lew Soloff's career is filled with a rich history of renowned sessions and world-class collaborations from the time he eased into the east coast world of trend setting musicians in the mid 1960's. Soloff's creative ventures have resulted in a respected body of work that places him in a category of true accomplishment and keeps his elegant and lyrical signatures in constant demand. Whether interpreting a standard or improvising on an original composition his phrasing and note choices exemplifys his unique voice. Soloff is also known as a virtuoso with tremendous range and superior technical command, yet he exudes a wisdom for quietness and melody. “Blue Lou" Marini One of the most sought after session horn players on saxophone, flute and clarinet, solo artist. arranger and composer Lou Marini has electrified audiences with his "sultry, seductive and singular sound" in jazz, rock, blues, classical music, and in film and television shows and specials. Andy Snitzer Contemporay Jazz saxophonist/composer Andy Snitzer was born and raised in Philadelphia. Although his first instrument was the clarinet, he turned to the sax at age 15, going on to study music at The University of Miami. There he was discovered by Bob James touring behind the keyboardist and appearing on a series of albums begining with 1987's "Obsession"; Snitzer concurrently earned his MBA at New York University, and earned a position at the J.P. Morgan investment firm whiles emerging as a sought -after session musician. He made his headlining debut with "Ties That Bind", scoring the NAC chart-topper "You've Changed"; he also branched out from jazz to pop, touring behind The Rolling Stones, and recording with artists from Bette Midler to Aretha Franklin. Tom "Bones" Malone Musician/Arranger Vocalists Angel Rissoff Angel Rissoff has his latest release, Diamond, Angel and Crooks, up and running here and abroad on the Intuition label. He’s also toured and recorded with The Blues Image and major Rock & Roll icon himself, Chuck Berry, as well as The New Rascals. Bil Kurz is a versatile studio singer and high voltage live performer who continues to coax amazing notes from his vocal chords. Although best known for his energetic R & B styling’s, don’t be surprised to hear his voice on radio or TV commercial jingles as he’s big demand on Madison Avenue these days. I am so very proud to join this amazing group of musicians. I can easily say that this is a professional high point for me. Before I attempt to recount my professional achievements I have to mention the two most important personal moments in my life. The first is the day I met and later married my beautiful and precious wife, Susan. The second would be the births of my three wonderful children. While at C.C.N.Y working towards my bachelors in music I had the opportunity to study alongside Arturo O’ Farrill . Arturo had composed a special arrangement of the schools Alma mata song “Oh Lavender” that we performed during a spring Commencement ceremony. In 1991-1992 I toured the U.S. and Canada with the first Equity Broadway production of The Buddy Holly Story. Also, in 1991 U.K. Pop sensation Kenny Thomas recorded my song “Girlfriend” co written with R & B producer Bert Price. The album was entitled “Voices” and went double platinum. In 1996 I landed a position at WPIX-TV and in 2000 I was hired as a full time Engineer. In 1997 I broke into the Billboards pop 100 singles chart with a remake of the BJ Thomas / Blue Suede hit "Hooked on a Feeling". In 2009 I released my first project as a record label executive” Green Heart”. The roster of musicians that I had the pleasure of working with were as follows: Toninho Horta, Nilson Matta, Romero Lubambo, Ze’Luis, Paulo Braga and Jerry Jemmot. Today I am a proud partner in a new and exciting music label City Boys Mike Productions L.L.C. Today I am introducing myself as the newest member of The City Boys. Today is a really good day.
